Maintaining a healthy body weight has become a challenge, amid a large scale increase in sedentary lifestyles. A rise in popularity of a junk food culture has also added to the problem.What is BMI (body mass index)?In order to determine if a patient is overweight, doctors will utilise a measurement process known as body mass index (BMI). This is calculated through the division of the weight in kilograms with height in meters squared. There are some pre-defined calculations of the BMI that define the body weight of a person. If your BMI is: Less than 18.5, then you are considered to be underweight Between 18.5 and 25, then you are considered to be a healthy weight Between 25 and 30, then you are considered to be overweight Between 30
