The Inhibitive Cost of Obesity
Being overweight can be expensive. Obese Americans spend around 42% more on their health care than Americans who are at a normal weight. A study published by Health Affairs shows that overweight Americans spend US$1,429 more per year on health than those who register a normal weight. At least a third of Americans are overweight and the incidence of Americans being overweight is increasing each year, with the cost of obesity-related health issues such as Diabetes also escalating.
