The UK population is growing-in more ways than one! Processed foods are easily available and cheap. The family dinner table has disappeared from many homes and normal life has ceased to be energetic. In the 1950s, housework was hard work. Few homes had a washing machine and dishwashers didn't exist in the UK. Most children played with toys that involved movement or simply played outside the home.
In 2010, dangers from traffic and attackers have led to many children spending their free time sitting at home in front of the TV or electronic computer games. Meals have often involved snacks or a processed meal, quickly reheated in the microwave. As a result 25% of the UK population is obese. This may be a vicious circle since children see their
