Solutions for Protecting the Obese from Disease and Infection

It is no secret that those suffering from obesity are more at risk of a host of illnesses and diseases owing to a general lack in their health, as well as a weaker immune system, as a result. These people require extra steps in both the prevention of and fighting of disease.
The scientific journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases published a revealing article and questioned whether obesity (body mass index ≥30) and extreme obesity (BMI ≥40) were independent risk factors for death among case patients over 20 years old, with specific reference to the 2009 H1N1 virus.
