Even though the majority of the United States population loves to indulge in junk food and sweets, not many people know the many benefits that come from eating a well-balanced diet full of essential vitamins and nutrients. Many people eat for the flavor of food, but don’t realize that the purpose of eating is to provide our bodies with the different elements that it needs to function normally on a day-to-day basis. Although the body will not shut down if it does not get the essentials one day, illness can result from eating poorly over a long period of time.
Eating fruits, vegetables, and whole grains are necessary in order to promote good health, along with foods that are high in several different vitamins and minerals.
