[WATCH]: Pregnancy Weight Gain Increases Diabetes Risk, Kaiser Permanente Study Shows
Monique Hedderson, PhD, talks about the results of a Kaiser Permanente Division of Research study showing that women who gained more weight during pregnancy than is recommend by the Institute of Medicine had a 50 percent increased risk of developing gestational diabetes mellitus, or GDM. Hedderson, who just had a baby herself, details some of the findings from the study, which was published in the journal Obstetrics and Gynecology. Read more in the Kaiser Permanente News Center:
