[WATCH]: Kids Invade the Recording Studio
This weekend, I had the pleasure of working with a group of talented kids from the Central Pennsylvania area. I love this part of the production process because it really brings the music to life for the real listeners. We had an absolute blast, but as you can tell from the schizophrenic nature of this video, it is definitely an effort to recruit and record "real" kids. Many children's musicians, in fact, cut this step from the recording process and instead add an effect to their adult voice.... I call it the "chipmunk" effect. I would much rather spend the extra time getting that authentic kid sound for many reasons. For one, the kids get to see the inside of the music production process, rather than just experiencing the end
