[WATCH]: CSS Olympics 2011
The Annual Olympics, which bring together over 150 individuals who are disabled by developmental disabilities such as autism, are held on the track and athletic fields of Georgetown Preparatory School. Participants engage in traditional Olympics events such as races, track events such as a long jump, as well as a basketball scrimmage and other activities. The Annual Olympics was founded by Kevin Kane, a North Bethesda resident and alumni of Georgetown Prep, whose brother is supported by CSS. The event highlighted a larger need for fitness and athletic opportunities, which sparked CSS to begin increasing efforts to improve health and fitness for individuals with developmental disabilities in Montgomery County, MD.
