2012 Manitoba Marathon - Video Diary Beginning Weight : 243lbs Age: 38 (in Apr) Target Weight : 160lbs Goal : Top 100 Runners, less than 3h30min Diet : Calorie reduced diet Training Time : 6 months Strategy: Must run many 18+ mile runs Injuries: "Severe" Plantar fasciitis (2.5 years), knees issues, shin splits, ankle issues, Achilles tendon inflammation, lower back injury Causes: Wearing workboots for 15 years, obesity History : Ran only 1 marathon, 3:41:08 in 2006, finished 178th Diet : 1 king-sized Whopper Meal per day (Lunch), w/diet soda Cost: approx. $1000 Weight loss: approx. 35 lbs Weight on Race Day: over 190lbs Race Day : Legs cramped up on Mile 18 Training : 5-1/2 months Speed: Capable of sustaining 7:30 min mile for 15
