Life outside the USA Ever wonder why the people in America are so fat. It is because in the 1900s National City Lines (General Motors, Firestone Tire, and Phillips Petroleum) purchased and dismantled streetcars (trams/trolleys) and electric trains in many cities across the United States. They also made roads (non-freeway) where bicycles were not to be allowed, and passed laws in cities, such as San Rafael Calfiornia, where roller skating is illegal. Such laws against against Bicycle and rollerskating only exist in the USA so "they" will force you to buy more automobiles and gasoline.
