[WATCH]: Obesity Epidemic: Weight Stats US: American's Need to Lose Weight
The obesity epidemic in America is escalating so fast that changes can be seen on a year to year basis on heat maps. American's are gaining weight and becoming less active. The number of obese American's with a BMI over 30 is more than 30% in most of the States. Some states have a yearly increase in BMI's stats. American's are among the fattest people in the world. Unfortunately high BMI rates leads to increased rates of diabetes and other weight related health risks. It is time for us to reverse the trend. If this trend isn't changed soon, we will be looking at states with 30% of their population with BMI's of over 40. In fact, seeing as the stats are based on a BMI of 30, it is not possible to know how many Americans are over 40%
