[WATCH]: Study: 1 in 5 Young Adults Have Hypertension

Nearly one in five-- that's the shocking number of young adults with high blood pressure, or hypertension, according to a new study. Scientists at the University of North Carolina studied more than 14000 people between the ages of 24 and 32. Results show 19 percent have hypertension, a stark contrast from earlier studies placing the number around four percent. CNN's Sanjay Gupta explains where these high numbers are coming from, pointing to high-sodium diets and a lack of exercise.
