Soda pop is clearly linked to worsening trends in childhood and adult obesity, as well as diabetes, in the U.S. and the West. Soft drinks are the number one dietary factor in the obesity epidemic sweeping the United States. Much of the world is recklessly, staggering down the same dangerous path to morbid obesity and premature death.
I prefer to call soda pop by its real name, "liquid candy," for the drink is crammed full of sugar. It's hard to believe so much sugar can actually dissolve in the liquid.
Oddly, diet soda (that has artificial sugar substitute), used in abundance by weight-conscious people, may actually be worse than regular soda. These diet drinks have been implicated, even more strongly, than regular soft
