[WATCH]: Fat City, Fit City? Part 1: Everything's Bigger in Texas
San Antonio tips the scales as the third-fattest city in America, according to Men's Fitness magazine. Worse, the city's weight problem has been passed down to its children. Rather than accepting the grim statistics, leaders of the town nicknamed "Fat City" began a campaign to combat their citizens' poor exercise and eating habits, as well as the poverty that often leads to obesity. But is it enough? Nearly 70 percent of San Antonio residents are overweight or obese -- a figure that climbs to 80 percent in the poorest neighborhoods. Like much of the nation, the city is eating itself into an early grave. But the town's "Fit City" program promoting walking, fitness and eating healthy snacks offers some ope.
