[WATCH]: Preventing Childhood Obesity: San Felipe Soccer Field of Dreams, NB3 Foundation
bit.ly The Notah Begay III Foundation (NB3 Foundation) helped the San Felipe Pueblo community officially open its brand-new, $785000 soccer field and community park. Community leaders applauded as children from the San Felipe Soccer Club took to the field for the first time on Monday, August 23, 2010. The facility, largely funded by a $535000 grant from the NB3 Foundation, is the first of its kind in the community. This construction project, and the work of the NB3 Foundation as a whole, is driven by the mission of preventing obesity and diabetes, and advancing the lives of Native American youth. According to the American Diabetes Association, Native American children and adolescents have among the highest obesity prevalence rates
