[WATCH]: Teen Pregnancies Spike In Mountain County

Across the state it's falling - but in Rutherford County the number of teen women getting pregnant is up. "A 21 percent increase should get your attention," said Health Director Jimmy Hines, referring to the rate pregnancies among high school-age women rose between 2010 and 2011. According to data from the North Carolina State Center of Health Statistics released Monday, pregnancies in women between the ages of fifteen and nineteen held steady or dropped in the county since 2006.But whether the number of teen mothers continues to increase will be essentially a matter of luck.
