[WATCH]: Large STRANGULATED Ventral Hernia With Bowel GANGRENE
This 38 year old male presented in surgery emergency with complain of pain abdomen and not able to pass stool and flatus for one day. On examination his abdomen was distended. There was a huge ventral hernia in supraumbilical region which was tense , tender and irreducible. bowel sounds were exaggerated. X-ray showing multiple air fluid level. Emergency surgery planned. Transverse incision given over hernia swelling. Hernia sac separated . Gangrenous bowel loops found inside sac. Sac opened , around one and half feet small bowel resected and end to end anastomosis done . Hernia defect closed primarily with 1-0 prolene suture without mesh placement. patient recovered well and discharged on 4th day. Discussion-- Women are affected
