June 14th, 2011, The Food and Nutrition Section of the Illinois Public Health Association Presents: James E. Bloyd, Cook County Department of Health: Introductory Remarks Participants will be able to name the components of a sus- tainable food system, and how they promote resilient, pre- pared communities. Participants will describe examples of inequities in the pre- sent food system experienced by rural, suburban and urban dwellers, farmers, people of color and low income people, and proposed policy solutions. Participants will be able to describe specific ways in which they can work together across sectors and organizations to promote a policy agenda that supports equal access to healthy food and prepared
