From Wisconsin - According to research in the journal Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research, testing the blood alcohol level of trauma patients may help predict complications. In a study of over 200 trauma patients, researchers found that an elevated blood alcohol level was associated with a higher rate of complications. It is estimated that 20% to 37% of trauma cases are alcohol-related.
